Verses that Prove Women Should be Obedient to their Husbands

Scriptures on Women's Obedience in Bible

In the King James Bible, the concept of women's obedience to their husbands is mentioned in several passages. One of the most well-known is found in Ephesians 5:22-24, which reads: "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything."

This passage is often interpreted as meaning that wives should be obedient to their husbands, and that the husband has authority over his wife. However, it is important to note that the passage also emphasizes the husband's responsibility to love his wife, just as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25).

Other passages in the King James Bible that touch on the topic of women's obedience to their husbands include Colossians 3:18, which reads: "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord." And 1 Peter 3:1, which says: "Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives."
