Yoga a Pagan Practice to be avoided by Christians

 Spiritual origins of yoga

The spiritual origins of yoga can be traced back to ancient India, where it was developed as a means of achieving spiritual enlightenment and liberation. The word "yoga" comes from the Sanskrit root "yuj," which means to yoke or unite, and it was originally conceived as a way to unite the individual self with the divine or universal consciousness.

The earliest written records of yoga date back to the Vedas, the oldest scriptures of Hinduism, which were composed between 1500 and 1000 BCE. The Vedas describe various practices, including meditation, breath control, and the repetition of mantras, which were used to attain spiritual insight and liberation.

Over time, different schools of yoga emerged, each with its own philosophy and practices. Some of the most influential schools of yoga include:

Raja Yoga: Also known as the "royal path," Raja Yoga emphasizes meditation and self-discipline as a means of achieving enlightenment.

Bhakti Yoga: Bhakti Yoga focuses on cultivating devotion and love for a personal deity, as a means of attaining union with the divine.

Jnana Yoga: Jnana Yoga emphasizes the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom as a means of attaining liberation.

Karma Yoga: Karma Yoga emphasizes selfless service and action as a means of purifying the mind and attaining spiritual liberation.

Today, the pagan practice of yoga has become popular all over the world as a physical exercise and relaxation technique, it remains deeply rooted in its spiritual origins and continues to be practiced as a means of achieving spiritual enlightenment and liberation.

Kundalini

Kundalini is a term used in yoga to describe a spiritual energy that is believed to reside at the base of the spine. The Kundalini energy is said to be coiled like a serpent and can be awakened through various yogic practices, including meditation, pranayama (breath control), and asana (physical postures).

According to the Kundalini yoga tradition, when the Kundalini energy is awakened and rises up through the chakras (energy centers) of the body, it can bring about profound spiritual transformation and enlightenment.

Kundalini yoga is a form of yoga that focuses specifically on awakening the Kundalini energy and harnessing its transformative power. It incorporates a range of practices, including physical postures, breathwork, meditation, and chanting, to activate and balance the energy centers of the body.

While Kundalini yoga is often associated with the physical sensations and experiences that can arise during the awakening of the Kundalini energy, it is ultimately a spiritual practice that is aimed at achieving a state of union with the "divine".

Christians should abstain from ALL pagan spiritual practices this includes Yoga. By engaging in such practices you are opening yourself up to the demonic.
